3rd Lviv Tourism Conference "Win with the Lion" 2011

The world is constantly changing. People’s preferences and lifestyle are changing. Traveller behaviour is changing. We, tourism market stakeholders, have to move with the times, stay on top of the latest developments in the travel industry and create high quality, unique tourism products in line with our customer needs. All this requires tight cooperation and strong commitmentat city, region and country levels and a common belief in the vision that “everyone in the city sells the city”.

Hence the overarching topic of the 3rd Lviv Tourism Conference “Win with the Lion” 2011 – “How to catch trends and travellers: Involve. Enhance. Present. Effect” – which was covered at length during its sessions.

In 2011 the Conference sessions were organised and held each under a specific slogan dedicated to one of the topic components:

  • “Power in Unity”: City Tourism Partnerships (about involving partners to achieve common success);
  • “Twist and Shout!”: Events Driving to Success (about enhancing tourist destinations by hosting outstanding events);
  • “Hold Them Tight!”: Emotions & Expectations (about fulfilling unspoken wishes of your customers);
  • "Going Strong": Creating Unforgettable Experiences (about impressing your customers with unbelievable food, accommodation, attractions etc).

The Conference also boasted a standalone session on tourist information centres where discussions revolved around various facets of TIC operations like financing, staff, printed materials, online presence and volunteer involvement.

Yet again, “Win with the Lion!” proved itself to be a platform for networking, new partnerships and contacts, a place for sharing ideas and experiences!
